BACA Mission Statement
Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle.

Herbal relief for mouth sores

WOW! It's been a while! But I'm back and I'm bringing you all a sure fire recipe to aid in healing oral sores, such as canker sores and fever blisters. I've read many herbal remedies containing these herbs for oral pain and sores, however the problem is making those preparations stay on the area.  Then I discovered Karaya powder. Karaya gum is widely used in preparations that protect the skin and mucus membranes. I buy mine under the brand name Convatec Stomahesive protective powder. You can buy it through the link provided , or most drug stores have it or can get it. It is a natural product derived from the sap the sterculia urens tree.
Now without further blabbity blab.... here is the concoction
(Clockwise from top)
1 tsp dried echinacea
2 tsp lemon balm
1 tsp golden seal
1 tsp licorice root

Combine these into a 4 oz jar and cover with warm coconut oil. You will need to simmer this on low or keep warm in a water bath in your crock pot for 3 days, adding water to keep the level about 2/3 way up the jar.
After three days you will have an infused oil, strain well using cheese cloth or a fine strainer.
Make this oil into a soft salve by re-warming and adding 1 tsp bees wax. I use a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water to do this. DO NOT get water into the mixture, it will ruin the karaya when you add it next.

While the is mixture is still warm add 1/2-1 tsp karaya powder and stir stir stir. You are done! Store in a small jar or tin. Use a q-tip to dot on oral sores. It works best if you blot dry the area just a bit, once it come in contact with your saliva it will gel up and form a protective barrier as well as hold the healing herbs in place.
